Dr. Kara Powell http://www.cyfm.net
Dr. Kara Powell, who joined the Fuller Seminary faculty in 2003, serves as assistant professor of youth and family ministry and executive director of the Center for Youth and Family Ministry (CYFM). She is currently coordinating seven research projects for the CYFM Urban Empowerment Project as well as the CYFM “When Faith Gets AIDS Project” and the CYFM College. Powell is the author of Deep Ministry in a Shallow World (coauthored with Chap Clark, 2006), Help! I’m a Woman in Youth Ministry (2004), and Mirror, Mirror (2003). She coauthored the Good Sex Curriculum Guide (2001), and was general editor for the 16-volume Gospel Light Pulse junior high curriculum. She has also contributed chapters and sidebars in several leadership and youth ministry resources, including Starting Right: Thinking Theologically About Youth Ministry (2001), Postmodern Youth Ministry (2001), Youth Talk Outlines (2000), and Hot Illustrations for Youth Groups (2000)
